Insufficient Paediatric Coverage

Since the beginning of January, La Herradura has been without a child-doctor service, or paediatric coverage, if you prefer.

This afirmation comes from the chief opposition party, the CA (Benavides) saying that as the Centro de Salud de La Herradura is not providing the service, villagers have to go to Almuñécar’s A&E Department.

Again, according to the CA, this problem has arisen because the doctor who covers this service has had his working hours reduced, yet the Junta de Andalucía has not provided a substitute.

This reduced presence in the village is because the said doctor also has to provide this service for Jete, Otivar and Lentegí on different days of the week.
