Almuñécar Town Hall and Ecovidrio are putting special recycling bins for glass into use, numbering 20 in total.
These bins are smaller than the normal ones so they can be installed in areas of the municipality with difficult access. This doesn’t mean, however, that you cannot use the larger, conventional ones.

The Councilor for the Environment, Lucía González, explained that, “This new system is part of the municipal sustainability and environmental-care policies and responds to the requests for locals for a more comfortable and closer-to-the-door solution.”
The Mayor explained that they are destined for narrow streets in the urban area where the lorries that empty the big ones can’t reach.
As for Ecovidrio which is the company that collects the glass for recycling, they will launch an informative campaign to remind citizens of the importance of glass recycling and how to do it correctly.
