La Herradura Kings

Whilst Motril, Salobreña and Almuñécar held their Three Kings Parade, La Herradura was not to be outdone with theirs.

Just about every town in Granada brought the parades forward so as not be be caught out by the rain, which was a wise move.

On the Paseo Andrés Segovia in La Herradura, Los Reyes Magos and the rest of the pageantry including Fiesta Queens made their way along to the delight of the gathered kids — take that, Santa!

Half a dozen floats interspersed with participants on foot made up the parade with the local dance schools supplying the energy and colour to the procession whilst Their Majesties waved and their helpers peppered the crowds of kids with sweets; some of whom were well armed with inverted umbrellas to fill with their booty!

The Cortejo Real had set out from the municipal sports pavilion to join the paseo road as far as the Avenida Prieto Moreno roundabout where the Centro Cívico is.

From there, everybody piled into the Auditorium (a precaution because of expected rain) for the event to continue, up on the stage. There, the Kings and Queens handed out presents and even pose with kids for photos
