There has been another flying accident involving a light aircraft out of the Leoni Benabú de la Axarquía Aerodrome.
A pilot in his late 40s, a well known aerobatics flyer, died in a crash landing Saturday afternoon. What caused the crash is still not known.

The victim, 49-year-old, Oliver Frutos from Granada was a flying instructor at the Real Aeroclub de Málaga.
He took off from the aerodrome but crashed soon afterwords near Río Benamargosa, mere metres away from the airfield. He had been taking part in a aerobatics display as part of the fiesta in honour of the patron saint of aviation, Nuestra Señora de Loreto.
The aerobatics display and a parachute display were to take part after the Mass (church service). Some of his family had come to participate in the fiesta and watch the display.
It was close to 12.30h that the Emergency Coordination Centre, 112, receive a call from the aerodrome to alert them to the crash. They immediately despatched fire and police personnel to the crash site.
The Spanish Aviation Safety and Security Agency, also known by the acronym AESA, is in charge of the investigation into the circumstances and cause of the crash.
This incident was not the first accident at the said aerodrome this year, but it is the first one that has resulted in a death; in the previous incident, the pilot was able to walk away from the crash landing relatively unscathered.
