Ninety people were temporarily evacuated in Motril yesterday evening because of a nearby fire on wasteland.
The fire broke out around 20.15h in the area of Camino Patria, near the wetland reserve of Charca Suárez. The fire rapidy advanced through wild cane and other vegetation

The Emergency Coordination Centre, 112, despatched the Motril Fire Service, backed by units from the Almuñécar and Cádiar fire stations. Also activated were Infoca units and both the Policía Municipal and Nacional.
Officers from Policía Nacional carried out the evacuation of campers in camper vans (around 40 vehicles).
The Motril Fire Department confirmed that they had the fire under control in the early hours of today.
