It was back in March this year that the Almuñécar branch of the far-left IU opposition party met with farmers in the area of the Carril de Río Seco to find out what was needed so that it could be brought before the Town Council.
One of the requests was for the re-asphalting of the said lane, which had lots of potholes at the time, as well as clearing up the sides of the lane itself.

Another concern expressed at the meeting was the accumlation of litter and rubbish in general in two areas along the lane. This was put down to the hoppers not being emptied regularly enough and also through the laziness of some individuals.
IU considers that owing in part to the complaint by the residents in that area, measures have recently been taken to keep the area free of garbage through regular, rubbish collection, together with surveillance cameras and noticeboards warnings of fines.
Editorial comment: do any of our readers live in the Torrecuevas area or regularly travel along this lane?
