The Guardia Civil, mountain-rescue group, Greim were called out to rescue a British mountain climber on El Chorro (a route known as the Blue Line) after he took a fall.
The 20-year-old man ended up dangling on his safety line around 200 metres up, after bouncing off a protruding rock and injuring his leg.

The emergency services received an alert around 12.50h from a companion climber detailing the situation, locating the victim in the Suiza part of the route, more specifically on the Escalera Árabe.
The Guardia Civil used their rescue helicopter to retrieve the man from the rock face; an operation that proved to be difficult, using a winch to lower a team member to the dangling victim, all the while keeping the helicopter from hitting the rock wall with its blades.
Once onboard, he was flown to Hospital Clínico de Málaga.
