The heavy rainfall in Almeria has caused a section of the A-7 to be closed to traffic, so that repairs can be carried out.

The rainfall damaged a storm drain running beneath the autovía where it passes through El Ejido. Consequently, the Ministerio de Transportes has announced that the A-7 will be closed to traffic for Balanegra access whilst work is being carried out.

The Ministry has given maps of two traffic diversions, one for heavy-goods vehicles and another for cars and small vans. The HGV diversion is much longer, for obvious reasons but the car diversion is not.

The Dirección General de Tráfico (DGT) confirmed that the autovía is closed between kilometre point 828 in Tarambana and kilometre point 829 in Balerma.
