Well, that's all that we needed because now you have to be careful with extreme-weather-alert SMSs supposedly from AEMET.
The Agencia Estatal de Meteorología (AEMET) has consequently warned that hackers send messages that masquerade as their alert official ones, inviting the recipient to download an app.

Málaga is on Orange Alert as is Valencia, again, so the bona-fide weather-warning alerts have been sent out.
However, the bogus ones contain the following text: “Se preve una tormenta severa en su región. Prepárese y manténgase a salvo. Descargue la APP“.
AEMET points out that their alerts never ask you to click on a link, so if you do receive one that does, delete it.
Finally, they point out that while they do have an app, you can only get it through online stores for IOS and Android.
