The Chairman of the Mancomunidad, Rafael Caballero, met with the Mayor of Jete, Plácido Jerónimo and the Manager of Aguas y Servicios, Alejandro Jurado for a photoshoot on Calle Aguacate in the village.
We’ve managed to use one of the press-release photos from the Mancomunidad without any of these politicians blocking the view of the said street.
The reason why they were on this street is because one of the principal mains-water pipes runs beneath it for about 30 metres. There is also a large sewage pipe that will be replaced, too.
The sewage pipe is pretty old and is to be replaced by a heavy-duty, 315mm-diametre, PVC one. The water-mains pipe will be replaced with a 110mm HDPE (High Density Polyethylene) pipe and 75mm one for the offshots to the houses along the street.
Whilst the street is dug up, they will sort out the sewage pipes to houses along the street and their connections to the mains-water pipe.
This work, which has a budget of 47,760 euros, was put on hold until the summer had passed. Once the underground work has finished, the Town Hall will be in charge of repaving the street.
