Snow on the Sierra

Before you start rushing around looking for your skiing equipment, it was a sprinkle of snowfall that lasted only about a quarter of an hour before melting.

Even so, technically we are still in summer although it might not feel like it, at least up in inland Granada. Admittedly, nobody in the Valle de Lecrín is lighting a fire or wheeling out the gas heaters, either, but the early mornings are in the low teens.

Anyway, the bashful presence of snowfall on the Sierra de Nevada was yesterday early evening. The CCTV cameras all across the ski slopes now show mud slopes and not even a smidge of snow but the snowfall happened above the 2,600-metre mark.

Temperatures are between 6.8ºC and 8.5ºC at 17.41h, which is the time of writing. It’s cloudy and promises to be sunny with intervals cloudy tomorrow, too.
