A woman has been remanded in custody since the 2nd of August, accused of killing her 4-month-old baby because it wouldn't stop crying.
This occurred in the area of the city of Sevilla known as San Jerónimo. Around the end of July the police began to investigate the death, suspecting foul play.

The forensic doctor who had examined the body confirmed that there were signs that the child had suffered violence and consequently on the 1st of August she was arrested.
Under police questioning, she confessed that she had killed her new-born baby because he constantly cried and she couldn’t deal with it anymore. She was brought before a magistrate who ordered that she be remanded in custody until a day for the trial had been set.
The Public Prosecutor is waiting upon a further report from forensic scientists that will establish the exact cause of the child’s death.
Editorial comment: OK, this is a delicate article to make any editorial comment on, but many, many parents have been driven to their wits end by a baby that constantly cries and after sleepless nights, utterly exhausted, they have thoughts that they would never, ever, put into action yet obviously some parents have done. Babies cry for a reason, meaning that there is something up, although you end up distinguishing between types of crying. That’s it.
