There's another scam to trick drivers and it involves motorbikes on junctions, so beware. It's not new, either, but more and more drivers are getting caught out by these tricksters.
According to a report published by a leading insurance company, it consists in staging a non-existent, road accident or deliberately provoking one with a third party as the victim. The object is to pretend to have suffered an injury in order to receive compensation.

The crooks work in pairs and usual target unacommpanied, women drivers; i.e., no passengers. They have favourite spots where they stage the accidents but they do change them when people start to cotton on in the area.
The modus operandi is simple: the first bike rider stops and attracts the driver’s attention so that they will approach, which is when the second bike ‘crashes’ into the car. The second rider will then take photos for an insurance claim.
In order not to fall foul of these criminals, this insurance company advises to be on the alert to identify this behaviour, taking special care on junctions.
If a driver finds himself, or herself involved in such an incident, a note of the number plate of the bike must be made and the ID of the rider. The more information that you have, the better.
Also take note of eyewitness’s detail and if there is a nearby CCTV camera.
