Also targeted were e-scooter riders, not because of the noise, obviously, but because a number of road-use infractions, such as not using a helmet or driving on pavements, etc.
Both 49cc scooters and e-scooters have been caught driving the wrong way down one-way streets and cutting across parks or noisy gatherings on the Haza de San Sebastián. Probably the most annoying, as well as dangerous, are the nightly races.
The Mayor of Padul, Celia Villena, explained that the crackdown began on the 12th and ended on the 31st. She called on e-scooter riders to remember that these vehicles are for use on roads, not pedestrian pavements, and that as road users they must respect traffic lights.
