The Junta de Andalucía deactivated the Plan de Emergencias por Incendios Forestales yesterday at 09.09h that had been put in place over the Víznar forest fire.
The fire broke out Saturday, making it the second fire that Infoca had to deal with in the province; the other was in Pinos Puente which broke out on Friday and affected 280 hectares.
The pre-emergency level was withdrawn yesterday following Infoca reporting that the fire was controlado; i.e, contained with no fronts advancing. This emergency level is activated when a forest or hill fire shows signs of reaching an urban area.
As a precaution, the police evacuated 70 dwellings belonging to the Urbanización La Sotanilla, but they were soon allowed to return to their homes. However, in the meantime the police had closed down the A-4002 and the A-4003, but which were reopened last night.
The emergency call centre, 112 received its first alert just after 16.15h on Saturday, followed by over 50 more. The Emergencia Situación Operativa 1 was lifted at 18.00h. The fire destroyed 32 hectares of mountain shrub and pine forest, as well as 40 hectares of farm land.
