Sore Losers

Two British, football supporters were arrested in Málaga after Sunday's match for threatening people with a knife.

The Eurocopa having concluded with Spain’s victory over England, the two men were evidently not very happy with the outcome and had decided to take it out on residents in the urbanización where they were staying.

It started not long after 23.00h when young kids started ringing doorbells on the urbanización, elated by their team’s victory. Unfortunately, one of the houses was occupied by British residents; a 21-year-old man in charge of his two younger brothers, a friend of his, and a girlfriend of one of them.

According to neighbours when they gave their accounts to the Policía Local, the two young men, shot out of the house to tell off the high-spirited kids for ringing the doorbell.

The kids took to their heels, frightened, and it wasn’t long before their parents and other neighbours came to speak with the two Brits.

Instead of apologies, the parents received death threats. One of the men was brandishing a large kitchen knife, although he didn’t come to use it.

Somebody called the police and they soon arrived, questioned everybody involved and arrested the two British men. They were taken to the police station and charged, although it is not clear what the charges were, but being sore losers was not amongst them.
