The alleged culprit behind the sexual assault of a child in Almuñécar is a neighbour of the victim's family.

The 49-year-old suspect “had access” to the 10-year-old boy as they live in the same neighbourhood, police investigations into the case believe.

The suspect, after police questioning was brought before a judge at the First Instance Court in Almuñécar this week and has been remanded in custody in the provincial jail in Albolote on the 11th.

The Guardia Civil are continuing in their investigations in case there are more victims
