Salobreña Beach Assistance

Cruz Roja lifeguards on Salobreña beaches are providing assistance for people with mobility problems.

The Cruz Roja Coordinator for Salobreña, Antonio José Castillo, explained that the Servicio de Vigilancia de Playas provides assistance to use the beach and bathe for people with reduced mobility in two areas on the town’s beaches.

One is on Playa La Charca (where the chiringuito of that name stands) and the other on Playa de La Guardia next to the Peñón. As for equipment for this task, they have two specialised chairs for reaching the water and placing the person safely in the water.

Finally, Antonio recommends that people don’t sunbath between midday and four in the afternoon, which is when the sun can do most harm.
