Beach Season Begins

Salobreña Town Hall announced that the town's beaches will be fully functioning, starting on the 21st and concluding on the 15th of September.

Around 40 people will be working everyday during the summer, some as maintenance/cleaning crew and others as lifeguards.

The Councillor for Beaches, Luis Cano, says that beach installations had been worked on and improved during the winter months, including providing new beach-shower installations. There are also more rubbish bins both on the paseo itself, as well as on the beaches, to facilitate refuse collection.

Amongst the daily tasks carried out by maintenance workers will be levelling the beaches and removing large stones with a tractor. Furthermore, beach toilets will be cleaned every day.

As for safety, 21 volunteers from Cruz Roja will man the lifeguard watchtowers, skipper the rescue launches and jet skis.
