The Guardia Civil arrested a man in his 50s, suspected of burglary and causing damages in Almuñécar.

ALM Guardia Civil GenericThe burglary took place during the early hours of the 25th, which woke the homeowner up; the burglar was banging on a window, so he got up and went to the terrace sliding glass doors.

He met, face to face, the 55-year-old burglar, who was holding a lit candle in his hand and who claimed that he didn’t know how to get back down to street level… The homeowner threw him out. Later checking to see if anything was missing, he found that the only thing taken was the candle.

He phoned the police and a patrol car turned up and the officer questioned the victim, obtaining a description of the man. They then began scouring the streets, came across him and arrested him. They are also questioning him about an incident where bystanders filmed him breaking up the four tables and 16 chairs on a churros-kiosk terrace in town.

The kiosk owner had reported the incident on the 11th explaining that the suspect had done it between 22.30h and 23.00h that same evening.
