The Motril Airshow, which will be held on June the 9th this year starting at 11.00h, is considered one of the most important in Spain. It represents an important tourist and economic boost for Motril and the local area as people come from far and around.

Before going onto list of the participating aircraft, firstly, the organisers of the event express their condolences to the family of aerobatic pilot who died on the 5th of May, Olivier Masurel, who died during the in Murcia. Flying back to base a bird strike with a buzzard that crashed through into the cockpit causing a fatal accident.

As well as new participant coming forward, the Motril Airshow has had two setbacks with the loss of the participation of the Spanish Army’s Tigre strike helicopter. Another participant to drop out is the Airbus C-295 del INTA

Finally, the coincidence of the European Elections with the date of the airshow meant that military bases won’t be available nor participation of military units. Foreign military aircraft will have to use civil aeroports and aerodromes.

On the other side of the coin, the Moroccan Royal Air Force is sending its display team Patrulla Acrobática Marroquí using their Mudry CAP-232 light aircraft.

Areas will be enabled along the beach for vehicle parking. The Air Festival does not charge for parking, it is completely free.

The Motril International Air Festival is a free show for all audiences. You just have to worry about choosing a good place and enjoying yourself to the fullest.
