Within our province there is the multi-building, beach scene along Velilla, Almuñécar and the old grain silo in Padul, which has all four walls of the towering structure covered with portraits and country scenes, but now it’s Salobreña’s turn where artists are converting several building facades into a work of mural art.
There are six projects, both on public and private buildings underway as part of the event, Arte Peazos, which by the time that you read this, will probably have received their finishing touches. In fact, Salobreña held the first, Street Art Convention involving international artists. But there was more as there was also live music as part of this open-air, cultural event.
The participating artists are: Ana Corazón, Marta Lapeña, Medianeras Murales, Pablo Astrain, Peyo0139, Sabotaje al Montaje, Francisco González ‘Oli’ and Natalia Haro, along with local artist, Luiz Villaescusa.
The themes included are the sea, the cultural heritage of sugarcane growing, tropical products as well as ‘free style.’
