Rambla de Las Brujas

“Besides the semi-abandoned state of the Rambla de las Brujas, you can add the presence of plastic, baby wipes and other kinds of rubbish caught up in the weeds along its whole length,” read a press release from the said party, adding, “the cause behind this could be the sewage system as there are no adequate periodic checks on it.”

Party Spokesman, Jose G. Llorente calls for an urgent clean up and for the water utility company, Aguas y Servicios, to carry out maintenance. He also pointed out that in the latest water bills that residents have received there is a 10% increase in the charge for sewage treatment. He observed that apparently this money is not being spent where it should, given the state of the rambla.

Whilst criticising this private utility company with its “golden contract” that guarantees it a set income each year regardless of its performance, Councillor Llorente says that his party completely backs the company’s workers who are demanding better pay and working conditions.
