Salvamento Marítimo has found the body of Nicolás Notario Romero during a A&S search on Wednesday.
The 53-year-old man, had gone out on his padde board on Tuesday from a beach in Benajarafe, which is a municipal dependency of Vélez-Málaga.
His death leaves behind a wife and two children aged nine and twelve.
The sea-rescue service had deployed two launches, Salvamar Hamal and Salvamar Alnitak to search the coast between Málaga and Almuñécar, zig zagging their way out, increasing the distance from the coast.
One of the Salvamento rescue launches came across the body five nautical miles out from Caleta de Vélez.
Also involved in the search were airborne units, Helimar 207 (helicopter) and Sasemar 305 belonging to Salvamento Marítimo and the Guardia Civil launch Río Gallo and one of their helicopters, Cuco.
