Strong winds have damaged the fiesta marquee in Salobrena resulting in the events planned for this afternoon and evening being cancelled.
All of the activities were to take place in the said marquee and there is nowhere else to hold them.
But other towns have had problems with the gale-force winds because Almuñécar had to transfer the events to be hold on the Plaza de San Cristóbal to the Plaza de la Constitución; in other words, the Town Hall Square.
No matter where it was on the coast, the hoisting-of-the-flag ceremony would have been fun! Actually, it has been pretty damned windy all over the province.

Much as I’m sorry the fair people. The parade people and general public. Will have lost out this year.
Selfishly, from where I live. I didn’t miss the boom, blooming, mindless booms of so called music until the early hours. The sounds seem to be right outside my door.
I don’t mind the castle events. Pleasurable and free of charge for me.
But the mindless stuff and amplified shouting I do not miss.
