A reader writes in to find out more information about the Gira de Andalucía which departs Almuñécar tomorrow morning.
Tomorrow starts the vuelta de Andalucia in Almunecar. Impossible to get information (where, when…). Would be grateful if you have any information?

The first stage will depart at 10:50h from the Aquatropic entrance, although from 09.00h tension will mount waiting for the start..
Riders will pass along Paseo Marítimo heading in the direction of Cotobro to make their way up to Punta de la Mona before dropping down to La Herradura beach.
From there they will go up Avenida Prieto Moreno to reach the N-340 back to Almuñécar.
The riders will then swing in at the gasolinera roundabout, passing along the Carrera de La Concepción in order to take the turning for Ítrabo, passing through San Sebastián, Torrecuevas.
The rest of the days route will take them through Lanjarón and Cádiar in the Alpujarra.

Colin: They cancelled it because of the farmers blockading the port, which they feared would cause obstructions so they began on the second leg instead of the first one, I believe.
Update on the cancellation of the race. We were waiting at the roadside !
