What's in the news across Spain is the appearance of small plastic pellets, being washed up everywhere but let us not forget the biggest problem
The Programa de Seguimiento de Basuras Marinas en Playas drawn up by Cedex contains the latest data on the appearance of small plastic pellets on Spanish beaches, including our own: Playa Carchuna on the Costa Tropical was chosen amongst the 29 Spanish beaches around the country.
The report says that the vast majority of marine refuse is plastic, and although the appearance of these pellets is worrying, they’re far from being the main contributor because it’s greenhouse plastic.
Of course, there are other materials such as metal, rubber (tyres) cloth, nets, fishing lines, cement pipes, black, PVC irrigation pipes, etc.
The fact remains, however, that plastic makes up 84% of the rubbish fished out of the sea off our coasts.

Lazy types. Ignorant types. Rubbish. Off the back of a lorry or a car into the Rio bed or onto a beach. Families’ plastic bags of rubbish from a day out. Umm do I bag it and carry it to the skip, or leave it or maybe placed it by the skip?
Just lazy and I’m sure their homes are spotless. Fast food places should be fined. If their patrons continue to drop food-packaging litter. Ditto the droppers.
