MOT Santa Ana Hospital 400x250This happened in a hotel room in Motril shortly after they answered a general call out at 05.40h on the 23rd. Fortunately, they had been nearby on a plainclothes patrol in an unmarked police car on Playa Granada where the hotel is.

The officers entered and found the child in a cyanotic state — cyanosis is the change of body tissue color to a bluish-purple hue, as a result of decrease in the amount of oxygen bound to the haemoglobin in the red blood cells of the capillary bed.

Rapidly they transferred the victim to the patrol car and raced to Hospital Santa Ana phoning on ahead to make sure that doctors would be ready for their arrival.

The officers later enquired at the hospital to see how the patient was doing and were informed that he was being kept in hospital under treatment but was out of danger, thanks to the rapid action taken by the officers.
