Two workers at a perfume factory in Armilla, near Granada, were injured when a metal barrel exploded.

The accident occurred around 14.45h as the two workers, neither of whom were directly employed by the factory, were welding the container; i.e. they were subcontracted employees.

The victims, aged 31 and 59, were taken to Hospital Neurotraumatología y Rehabilitación (Virgin de Las Nieves).

The older man was discharged from hospital that day whilst the younger man remains in the Plastic Surgery Ward.

In June, 2022, there was also an incident in that same factory, which fortunately only produced material damage and no casualties. However, residents living nearby were advised to close their windows whilst the fire was being put out.
