The driver of a cement-mixer lorry was injured after he lost control of his vehicle and it overturned.
The accident occurred on the exit road linking the A-7 to the N-340 at Taramay yesterday around 11.00h in the morning.
As a result of the accident, the driver was unable to exit the wreck, which required the assistance of the Almuñécar fire service.
Also despatched was an ambulance and the Guardia Civil to regulate the traffic whilst the rescue was going on.
The three fireghters had difficulty freeing him owing to his multiple fractures but once free he was flown to hospital in an air-ambulance helicopter.
Editorial comment: this road connecting the A-7 and the N-340 has really tight bends which have caused numerous accidents.

Martin. It’s not the road , not the bends. Like the bikers that come unstuck , in many cases. It’s the speed of the vehicle and the mentality of the driver.
Clue is!! Bends. Lower gear. Don’t rush it. The poor N-340 has a bad name.
