There's something about the Granadinian Coast that lures film producers as a location, be it ports and marinas, or even manor houses.

Take for example, Castell de Ferro, where they recently did some shooting for a film, Cerrar Los Ojos. Another example is where La Herradura’s Marina del Este was turned into jet-set Marbella for the duration of shooting sequences for Los Farad.

Now it’s the turn of Casa Bates, that boutique hotel between the Granada junction on the N-340 and the new roundabout entrance into Motril. This 19th-Century house, built in the Italian style, has been the hushed-up location for an upcoming, Prime Video series entitled, Rivals.

This Disney productions has brought with it a host of international actors, such as Alex Hassell, Bella Maclean, Aidan Turner, Emily Atack, David Tennant, Catriona Chandler and Danny Dyer, amongst others, to bring to life a novel by British writer, Jilly Cooper.

Casa Bates is usually a popular wedding-reception venue, thanks to its beautiful gardens and accommodation for guests.
