Almuñécar Town Hall will spend 14,000 euros improving the country lane of Cuesta de los Chatos between Río Seco riverbed and Peña Escrita.
“It is a very busy lane that has deteriorated and something had to be done to improve access to cortijos and fruit farms in the area, explained the Councillor of the Environment, Luis Aragón.
The widening and tarmacking of the lane involved 170 metres in length and 700 sq/m in area. The lane had recently had an agglomerate surface laid but it was not very good so the decision was made to use tarmacadam.
Councillor Luis Aragón explained that the Camino de la Pipería in the Pago de Guerra Alta area and the Camino de Pago de Guerra lane to Carrizalejo, are also undergoing improvement.

Erly: We are very busy getting the October paper edition ready for the printer for Wednesday at 08.00h. After that, I will give Councillor Luis Aragón a call on the subject.
So, do we conclude there is no verifiable news about the future of Peña Escrita itself?
