Following the resignation of the Hermano Mayor of a La Herradura-based, Semana Santa procession brotherhood, the rest of its board also resigned.
This means that there will have to be elections held to choose the new board members but until then the Hermano Mayor, Antonio Almansa, will have to stay on to hold the fort until the elections are held.
The said elections will probably be held on the 8th of next month at 20.00h in the village church, San José.
Any member of the brotherhood can put their name forward to be a board (junta) member as long as they meet certain conditions.
A) They have to be over 18.
B) They must have been a member for at least three years.
C) Junta members belonging to other brotherhoods cannot put their name forward.
D) Membership fees have to be paid up to date.
Editorial comment: strangely, amongst the conditions there was no mention of having to believe in God, Jesus and The Virgin Mary… Just saying!

Good riddance- scap these fasc!st relics and free Spain of the religious yoke!! The same institutions that comitted mass genocide are still in power!
Now now Martin. In this country you could be offending a lot of people. Plus God might smite you down.
Despite being ineligible via rules B) and D), I still wish to put my name forward, as I reckon you could do the entire route in 1/10th of the time with a souped-up forklift. Efficiency, that’s the key.
