Five passengers were injured in Granada on Tuesday when a car ran into a bus after jumping a traffic light in red.

Instead of stopping, the car driver sped off. Consequently, the police haven’t been able to identify the car, much less the person responsible.

Several eyewitnesses, either actually on the bus or on the streets, phoned in to 112 just before midday to report the accident.

Those injured were attended to at Hospital San Cecilio, amongst whom were two minors.

The bus company, Alsa, which holds the contract to provide the municipal bus service, said that the bus in question was not seriously damaged, which comes as a relief to them because their bus fleet already suffered a loss of vehicles after a fire in the bus deport destroyed eight buses.
