I know, the Gazette is starting to sound like an Animal Weekly, but we can only report what there is, so unless you go out and rob a bank, like a good sport...
The Motril fire service was called up to put a fire out in a flat at the western end of Motril around midday yesterday and whilst engaged in this, ended up rescuing a dog.
The flat fire on the Ronda de Poniente at number 46 was reported to the fire service around 13.00h and a fire engine (truck) was duly despatched.
Trapped within the flat was a dog which they were able to save despite its having inhaled so much smoke. The dog owner, the tenant, was not at home when he fire was reported.
A fire-inspection officer is investigating how the fire might have begun.
