Heavy rains fell on Sunday just after 16.00h causing flooding in the city and damage to inland Costa Tropical.

The most affected area in the city was the Calle Pilar García Romanillos, where the fire service was called in to pump out flood water.

There were also huge puddles (small ponds in size) on Avenida de Las Alpujarras, Carretera de Alfacar and at the entrance to the fairground where the Corpus Cristi fiestas are taking place; i.e., the Ferial en Almanjáyar.

There have also been rockfalls along the GR-5204 serving Polopos near kilometre point two (Haza del Lino).

The National Weather Agency issued a Yellow-Level warning that lasted until eight in the evening.
