The Spanish Air Force air-display team, Patrulla Águila, has confirmed that they will be flying effortlessly above Playa de Poniente and Playa Granada at the Festival Aéreo Internacional, which will be held on the 11th of June.
The Chairman of the Asociación Aereonáutica Andaluza Orión, José Migue Pérez Juárez, explained, “the Spanish flight formation will perform once again in the Motril air display, providing a unique show leaving more and more spectators gaping.”
The Patrulla Águila is stationed at the Base Aérea de San Javier, in Murcia and is consisting of a flying team of a commander and seven pilots and two in reserve. This display flight represents Spain in air shows both nationally and internationally offering an insight into the professional abilities of the air force and the Spanish armed forces in general and hopefully inspires young man and women to become a fighter pilot.
They fly Spanish-made, two-seater trainer, CASA C-101 jets capable of 770 kph at 42,000 feet (12.6 km) . The C-101s are affectionately known as blackbirds, official but chickenbutts on base.

Oman also uses 12 of them, purchased in 99 and the Republic of Ireland bought another dozen in 2003. The following year Bulgaria purchased twelve and the last country to acquire them as Mexico, who purchased two in 2006.
