The two women found on the Sierra Nevada Tuesday morning weren't wearing any suitable clothing for snow conditions.
T
hey were found, facing down, just 200 metres from the mountain refuge, however neither of them had been staying there – the only occupants were military personnel.
Nobody had reported them as missing although they had been at least 24 hours on the mountainside when their bodies were discovered.
The Hungarian Embassy in Madrid has been informed so that their families can be notified. Both women had their IDs on them so identifying them was no problem.
The autopsies have confirmed that they died of hypothermia.

Surely these deaths are being treated as suspicious. If they were not staying in the refuge, how did they get up to the Hoya de la Mora area without suitable clothing and footwear in the horrendous conditions?
