The Guardia Civil arrested a Frenchman as he waited to board a ferry from Melilla to Motril, after drugs were found hidden in his vehicle.
The 32-year-old man was found to have nearly 43kg of hashish hidden in the door panels of his Citroën C4 with French number plates.
The policeman inspecting the vehicles became suspicious of the car when he noticed something odd about one of the doors, so he began to dismantle it and found the hashish in pollen form in sealed, plastic bags.
The vehicle was passed to an area for a thorough inspection and a total of 99 individual packets of ground, flower buds were found, all of different sizes
The street value for this drug haul is estimated at 103,286 euros, according to the charts produced by the OCNE (Oficina Central Nacional de Estupefacientes).
