The Servicio Provincial de Costas has begun work to replace sand washed away on Playa de Cable by recent wind and wave erosion.
This work is a continuation of the task carried out between April and June this year, after which it was halted during the summer.
The plan for this last week of October and the first week of next month is to basically move the sand from one part of Playa El Cable to the parts where a step near the shore has appeared. It’s also to stop small lagoons emerging in the middle of it – that’s the plan.
When this is completed, Costas hopes that the Motril beaches between Playa El Cable (next to the port) and Playa de Poniente will have a uniformed appearance.

Until the next winter storms.!!
Why not leave it. Conserve sand and dinero and put in better designed beach erosion measures. ??
