Another traffic-flow change in Almuñécar, but this time affecting Calle Guadix, which is the one that runs parallel with Río Seco.
You will no longer be able to access it from El Paseo de San Cristóbal; between Calle Bikini and the beach road is a temporary one-way, street.
This is because they will be sorting out (seemingly yet again) the sewer system and the rain-drains one, which now run separately. Before, everytime it rained heavily, raw sewage bubbled out of the rain drains.
Anyway, the section of the said street will be closed off starting this Monday morning at 08.00h and will probably remain closed to traffic until the end of the year.
During this time if you want to drive up Calle Guadix from the Paseo de San Cristóbal, then you will have to drive down to the cross on the rocks (El Peñón del Santo) and swing back along Calle Bikini until you reach Calle Guadix and turn right like before.
Remember, then, that you cannot access Calle Guadix from the beach road – you have to drive around the circuit, but you can drive all the way down to Calle Bikini where it narrows down to a single-lane, one-way system.
