Almuñécar Tax Cuts

The Mayor of Almuñécar, Juan José Ruiz Joya, has announced that he intends to lower taxes at the next Plenary Meeting of the Town Council.

ALM Mayor Juan Jose Ruiz JoyaThe reduction that will be discussed on the 27th of October will be a reduction in the IBI (Impuesto de Bienes e Inmuebles), the tax on building work (Impuesto de Construcciones), the business tax (Impuesto de Actividades Económicas) and the tax on the municipal vehicle compound (Tasa de Depósito de Vehículos).

He considers that these proposed tax reductions will “impact favourably on people in a vulnerable situation;” lower-income households. He also considers that it will also increase employment and motivate businesses to consume less electricity whilst at the same time boost clean energy.

Furthermore, the Town Hall wants to extend economic aid when it comes to paying IBI, especially those living in needy circumstances, amongst them widow/widowers with little income, people of 65, people with 65% disability, single-parent families and victims of gender violence.

The construction tax (ICIO) is for buildings  of “declared special interest or for municipal use. There is also a 75% reduction of individual renovations on existing buildings that have been included in the Programa de Rehabilitación Autonómica de Viviendas de la Consejería de Fomento y Vivienda de la Junta de Andalucía

There’s a 95% reduction of constructions or installations that take advantage of solar energy for self consumption, or constructions or installations that include charging points for electric vehicles.

Concerning the Impuesto de Actividades Económicas (IAE), there will be  a 50% reduction on businesses that are setting up for the first time.
