According to the main opposition party in Almuñécar, Convergencia Andaluza, the Mayor has done nothing about complying with a court sentence on Urb. Cotobro

Consequently the CA has registered a document at the Town Hall calling on the Mayor, Juan Jose Ruiz Joya to explain what steps he has taken to adhere to the Regional Supreme Court’s ruling that makes the Town Hall responsible for the infrastructural upkeep of Urbanisation Cotobro (ECCO) and Urbanizacíon Punta de la Mona.

It was on the 23rd of December last year that the sentence was handed down, dissolving the hitherto arrangement through the Entidad urbanística de Conservación de Cotobro (ECCO) and placing the responsibility on the Town Hall.

Then on the 24th of February the same law court ordered the Town Hall to immediately take charge of the urgently needed road repairs, etc, on Urbanización de Los Berengueles-Punta de la Mona

Soon after the CA put forward motions in Plenary Meetings of the Town Council (31st Mar. & 28th Apr.) calling for the situation to be debated; ie. implementing the court sentence yet on both occasions the ruling coalition rejected the motions.
