A-7 Road Accident

There was a road accident on the A-7 six days ago that resulted in the deaths of the driver and front passenger, both in their 20s, the back-seat passenger survived unscathed.

COS A7 Crash Melicena 16SP22The surviving occupant was found sobbing and dazed, sitting on the hardshoulder; he had manged to pull himself out of the wreck. He was taken to Hospital Santa Ana in Motril.

The other two, aged 23 and 27 died at the scene, having suffered injuries “incompatible with survival.” When the Motril fire service arrived at the scene (Melicena) the driver was dead but the other man still showed signs of life but he died as he was being put into the ambulance.

The fire personnel then worked to free the body of the driver from the wreckage of the Volkswagen Golf.

It appears that the driver lost control of the vehicle, colliding with the crash barrier, ripping out several metres of it

The emergency services had received a call around half four in the morning to say that there was a crashed car on the Autovía del Mediterráneo.
