The body of a diver was found near the Marina del Este in La Herradura on Friday, according to the 112 information service.
Little is known other than unconfirmed reports that the body belongs to a 67-year-old Polish man.
The body was spotted by a beachgoer on the Marina beach floating a few metres off the shore, who reported the find to the 112, emergency, call centre around 17.00h.
The Policía Local, the Guardia Civil and Cruz Roja were despatched to the Marina. An air ambulance was also sent but it was not needed.
Police believe that the man had been diving near the port but had suffered some form of indisposition, such as a heart attack, whilst under the water.
The body was taken to the Instituto de Medicina Legal de Granada for an autopsy to establish the cause of death.
