As we all know there are scammers out there who are only too keen to get at our credit/debit card details.
This is something that if you do not stop and think about, you can unwittingly give to them.
Last week I was contacted by what I thought was the Agencia Tributaria (the tax office). I was informed that I was due a refund of some 400 euros. So, right away thinking good news and so easy to be scammed.
But, then they asked me for credit/debit card details, long number, expiry date and the three numbers on the back. In other words, all the information they need to use my card.
Quite apart from the fact that this information is never asked for, on looking closely at the page, whilst it did look like the heading from their web page I could see that it was not the same as the genuine one.
This is a scam, do not be fooled into giving them your card details.
