La Herradura Municipal Market has reopened its doors to the market stalls within, along with the Tourist Information Office housed in the same building.
Although the meat, fish and frozen-food stalls are open, the fruit & veg one won’t pull up its blinds and begin trading until Monday.
The new Mayor, Juan José Ruiz Joya and the Councillor for Tourism and Beaches, Daniel Barbero, showed their faces in search of Smartie Points for the reopening, together with the representative of the company that carried out the renovation work.
The renovation work cost 150,000 euros, 100,000 of which was paid by the Junta de Andalucia and the remaining 50,000 by the Town Hall.
However, despite the clutch of politicians, this was not the official inauguration, as Councillor Daniel Barbero explained that this would be on Thursday the 7th, which is when the Junta bigwig would be available (Vice-PM Juan Marín).
