The tourist train that weaves its way through the streets of Almuñécar in the summer will recommence its runs today providing a mobile display of tourists for the townsfolk.
The Trópico Express, driven by Fernando Matías, will set out for the first time this summer from Chinasol at 19.00h, running from there along Paseo de San Cristóbal, Calle Guadix, Avenida Costa del Sol, Carrera de la Concepción, continuing down Avenida Rey Juan Carlos to the beach and then turning left at the startled octupus for Velilla before returning.
And so it will continue, to the joy of other vehicles, until September, if it is not ambushed and burned before then. Almuñécar, by the way, was the first town on the Costa Tropical to come up with this traffic-congesting vehicle.
If you’re thinking that you would like to ride on the Trópico Express then it will cost you just five euros, or one euro less for kids, payable upon boarding.
Make sure you wear old clothes just in case you get pelted with eggs… just kidding!
Here is the timetable:
Paseo del Altillo: 18.45h, 19.45h, 20.45h, 21.45h and 22.45h

Isabelle: it should have stopped by now.
When does the train stop running in September? Beginning or end?
ha ha you mention old coats how many of the the locals have sneaked on with a fake nose moustache and sunglasses just to see what all the pomps about and if the owners offered it free to the pensioners or a weary local they might get less mither no money though but hey ho
