The Grumpy Victim

When you crash your car into somebody's house, you're generally apologetic, after all, you can't claim that they hit you, yet not everybody reacts that way.

AND Mijas police stationThe accident took place towards the end of last month in Mijas within Urbanización Campo Mijas.

The emergency services received a call out after a driver misjudged a bend, sped down a bank and ended up hitting a house. The impact was not that serious – dents and chipped bricks.

The police had just finished gathering statements from witnesses when one of them noticed that the driver was still in the car.

When they asked him for his driving licence, his reaction was aggressive, not only towards them, but towards the houseowner as well. Offering plenty of insults and threats, he ended up physically attacking the officers.

Consequently, they arrested him, read him his rights, and handed him over to the Guardia Civil, charged with resisting arrest, bodily harm and threatening behaviour.

Editorial comment: perhaps he was upset because, apparently, they didn’t bother looking in the car to see if there was anybody in it, until after they had interviewed several people.
