The main opposition party in Motril, the PSOE, urges the Town Hall to elaborate and carry out a plan especial to eliminate road-surface deficiencies.

The socialist consider that as the Mayor has announced a 5-million surplus in the budget, they should have no problem financing such a compaign across the municipality.

Socialist councillor, Alicia Crespo, considers that this should be carried out urgently as deterioration is evident no matter which street you examine.

For this reasons she calls on the Mayor, Luisa García Chamorro, “to set aside her propaganda and concentrate on the problems of the Motrileños.”

“She spends money on unnecessary work, such as that carried out on the Plaza de España or the Paellera, whilst on some streets driving a car or riding a motorbike or bicycles is a veritable adventure,” she chided.

According to the socialist councillor, the streets that need urgent repair are from the Ronda de Levante, passing along Avenida de la Constitución, beneath the Cerro de la Virgen, Calle Nueva, Calle la Fabriquilla and the streets in the beach areas.
